Business expertise celebrated at Shuttleworth

Encouraging business in Central Bedfordshire is one of the many roles undertaken by Moira Caborn and colleagues at Shuttleworth College.

Best known as a centre for land-based learning, Shuttleworth College’s Mansion House is also a super setting for meetings.

Moira has been fostering relationships with Business Link and other organisations to put Shuttleworth on the map in the minds of local entrepreneurs.

Most recently, local ‘Enterprising Woman of the Year’ Sally Aspinall was a guest speaker at an event to mark Global Entrepreneurship Week.

Global enterprise is certainly something encouraged at Shuttleworth which is an agricultural centre of expertise and recognised the world over.

Now the doors of Shuttleworth College and Mansion House will be opened even more widely to welcome in those who want to develop their skills and expertise in business. Whether it be through general networking events, specialist groups like a Floristry trade club or land-based learning for those wanting to generate an income from “the good life” be it from an allotment or small holding.

Professional farmers will also be able to sign up for courses, helping them to develop and diversify business opportunities on their land.
