Marathon Man trains on Snickers puddings

Tuesday 22 April 2014

Bedford College Head of Hospitality Mark Lewis has set himself a serious challenge.

He is going on the road to run four marathons in the UK and USA in a month to raise money for Whizz Kidz.

“I have set myself a crazy and mad personal challenge by intending to complete the following marathons:

April 6th – Brighton

April 13th- London

April 21st – Boston USA

April 27th – Stratford upon Avon

Which total 105 miles in 4 weeks.

“I have been extremely fortunate to be supported by the charity I will be running for “Whizz Kidz”.

“They provide motorised wheel chairs for disabled children, giving them the freedom and independence we all enjoy on a daily basis.”

“Each wheel chair costs in excess of £6,000. My aim is to raise £5,000 effectively buying one and changing someone’s life.”

Mark has already run seven marathons since he took up running 11 years ago.

He is being backed by Bedford College students who are staging a charity dinner in May to add to the funds. “This will include a themed menu including Snickers pudding, which some of us remember being called a Marathon,” said Mark.
