Bedford Academy's pioneering approach

Wednesday 12 March 2014

Bedford College sponsored and supported the Bedford Academy through a change of Governments from Labour to the current Coalition, and is delighted to see that commitment paying off in terms of advances in education for pupils and advantages for the whole community.

The following article appeared in the national press this week to highlight the progress of the school:  http://www.independent.co.uk/news/education/education-news/the-3-rs--ready-respectful-and-resilient-a-school-has-put-pupils-character-formation-before-exam-results-9179084.html

Said Bedford College Principal and CEO Ian Pryce CBE:  "The multi-million building is a beacon which shines a light on the educational advances being made at the school."

Bedford Academy will accept pupils from the age of 11 from September 2014 - the secondary style which is the norm in most of the UK, as opposed to the three-tier system which still exists in parts of Bedfordshire.
