World-class skills

Friday 9 May 2014

World class skills start at Bedford College including those in much needed Health & Social Care and Childcare vocations.

Bedford College hosted an important event leading up to the World Skills showcase in these areas. Students from colleges across the region were invited to take part in day-long super classes from which the two winners will now go through to the National Skills event at the NEC Birmingham. The winners from that go on to the World Skills event overseas.

The regional winners on Friday May 2nd were:

Health & Social Care - Keeleigh Saunders

Child Care - Emma Leahy

Bedford College is a premier sponsor of The Skills Show event again this year, as last year - when it showcased talents from electrical engineering and animal sciences.

Bedford College hosts a series of skills events throughout the year such as the event on May 2nd  – linking it with the World Skills “premiership” league.
