Hitachi powers up Bedford College

Friday 24 October 2014

Students at Bedford College are working with over £3,000 worth of power tools thanks to a collaboration with Milton Keynes based Hitachi Power Tools.

Electrical apprentices and full-time trainees are now able to work with Hitachi’s powerful 18V cordless tools as they work their way into their respective trades. The collaboration also includes prizes for outstanding students.

“It was very generous of Hitachi and their support has been valuable in terms professional training in the handling of power tools. We hope to develop the relationship further with workshops and more,” said Tony Joyce, Executive Director Construction and Building Services at Bedford College.

“We’re delighted to support Bedford College and apprentices in this way,” said Simon Miller, Brand Manager for Hitachi Power Tools. ”Our links with colleges throughout the UK are growing as we look to inspire the next generation of tradespeople."

Hitachi Power Tools (UK) moved its head office to Milton Keynes from London in 1987.
