Arts thrive at South Bank Bedford

Tuesday 23 September 2014

The specialist theatre, film, fine and graphic arts centre of Bedford College: The South Bank Centre is a beacon of creativity.

Talented and experienced staff prepare award-winning students for careers in the multi-billion pound arts industries, where Britain leads the world.

This autumn it is hosting two significant arts-related events.

September: Bedford Film Festival is staging its educational workshops at the South Bank, the modern riverside venue of the Cauldwell Street campus.

Last year the festival included an on-stage interview by Wayland’s Song film director Richard Jobson with the writer of the cult to classic Quadrophenia.

November: Speakers from around the world are lined up for a day of ‘design’ talks at TEDxBedford. TED is an internationally recognised brand, with TEDx being localised spin-offs.

Bedford College sponsored the first TEDxBedford in 2013, which was staged at Bedford School. This year the event is being held at the specialist arts venue of the South Bank.
