Nepal Earthquake appeal meal

Monday 1 June 2015

A very special themed five-course dinner was arranged at the popular 25 Restaurant on the 5th floor of Bedford College tower.

The “Celebrating Local Produce” meal featured innovative and delicious dishes by students using foods sponsored by AB Fruits, M&J Seafood, Woburn County Foods, Wodehill artisan cheese and Callebaut chocolate.

The event also helped raise money for the Nepal Earthquake – which is of particular importance to one member of the hospitality staff, Andrea Ruff, as her sister Lindsay Baigent is in the thick of it as a nurse.

“I am very proud of my sister’s work and our Assistant Director Mark Lewis kindly agreed that we could use the event on May 21st to help raise funds for the Nepal appeal,” said Andrea.

In support of Andrea, past and present students volunteered to come in and help make the evening a success.

Charity prizes included: Afternoon Tea for 2 at Bedford Swan Hotel, a Callebaut chocolate masterclass at Bedford College, £20 Love Bedford shopping vouchers and more.
