Manufacturer of catering products, Terinex, has teamed up with Bedford College to promote professionalism in the kitchen.

The company, which has been manufacturing and supplying a wide range of catering essentials for 40 years exports to over 40 countries is now encouraging the next generation of chefs to use its products

Terinex pioneered oven bags and roasting film in the 1960’s and with its focus on innovation is recognised as the leading manufacturer and authority on all types of polyester oven bags -   helping consumers and caterers to lock in flavour, reduce mess, save energy and provide healthier cooking

Along with oven bags Terinex also produces film and foil for the catering market, baking parchment for the retail consumer and caterers, and manufactures a range of facial tissues

On Monday May 18th a hot squad of Bedford College trainees took part in a cooking competition, using Terinex products. Judging was by Terinex team members:  Managing Director Peter Garside, Operations Director Angela Brewster and Sales Manager Dave Whitbread.

Tony Richards, Competition Co-ordinator for Hospitality at Bedford College said: “This was a great opportunity for our students to work under competition conditions supported by a professional supplier. We are grateful to Terinex of Bedford for supporting us and sponsoring prize vouchers to the value of £300.”

The standard of cooking was excellent and the team from Terinex thoroughly enjoyed judging the entries. Terinex is always looking at ways to help and assist the catering trade and this was an ideal opportunity to help in the development of young chefs:  said Terinex’s Managing Director Peter Garside.
