The centre houses a wide range of species including birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish, mammals and exotic animals. The centre provides you with an innovative learning environment whilst maintaining the highest standards of animal husbandry and welfare enabling you to gain excellent practical experience.
New developments include our purpose built humidity room and a tropical biospheres which provide specialist accommodation for our tropical rainforest species. These up-to-date facilities and environments ensure that you are able to gain specialist knowledge of modern husbandry techniques.

The Animal Centre has scooped prestigious
Blue Cross awards in three categories, after competing nationally against 37 colleges from across the country. The Centre won; best overall animal unit for welfare; best bird welfare management and best amphibian and reptile management.
