We have an excellent opportunity for 15 bright and focused individuals to become Engineering apprentices for Vauxhall, based at their plant in Luton. They are the UK’s largest manufacturer of Light Commercial Vehicles.

You must be driven and committed to achieve with a keen sense for problem solving and a willingness to learn and take instruction.

Successful completion of the Apprenticeship could lead to full time employment at Vauxhall Motors as a qualified Maintenance Technician.

Entry Qualifications
You will need a minimum of five GCSEs achieved / predicted at A*-C or 4-9 grade including maths and English (or equivalent).

Apprenticeship Programme
Engineering Technicians ensure that equipment is maintained to a standard necessary for the production of high value manufactured products. Typically the work covers a broad range of activities include installation, testing, fault finding and the on-going maintenance of complex automated equipment.  This requires the application of a blend of skills, knowledge and occupational behaviors across the electrical, electronic, mechanical, fluid power and control systems disciplines.

This is a four year Advanced Apprenticeship.

Year 1
Five days a week in College completing a Level 2 foundation competency qualification, starting a Level 3 knowledge qualification and a three-day gateway assessment at the end of the year.  

Year 2
One day a week in College, four days in the workplace.  The day in College is to complete the Level 3 knowledge qualification.  

Year 3
Five days a week in the workplace compiling evidence to demonstrate competency.

Year 4
Five days a week in the workplace compiling evidence to demonstrate competency and an end point assessment.
