This course is designed for any person employed in arboriculture, forestry, horticulture, landscaping and grounds maintenance who is or will be required to operate wood chippers. On successful completion of this course, you will receive an NPTC Level 2 Award in the Safe Use of a Manually Fed Wood Chipper from City & Guilds.

Outcomes

1. Know the health and safety requirements for operating a wood chipper 

2. Be able to carry out a risk assessment on a site

3. Be able to prepare the equipment and site for wood chipping operations

4. Be able to operate a wood chipper

5. Carry out maintenance on a wood chipper

Additional information
To take part in this course you must bring PPE (personal protective equipment) and other tools and equipment as listed on the joining instructions. You can also view the PPE and tools list here. These will be emailed to you a few weeks before the course is due to start – please contact us to confirm you have the required items.
