Photoshop: Introductory
This course will allow you to gain skills in using Photoshop as a creative tool at an introductory level. You will have the opportunity to engage with the technical and aesthetic requirements and concerns around working with Photoshop and image manipulation.
Entry requirements
Learners will use Adobe Photoshop on Apple Mac computers.
Course content
During the course you will study the following topics:
- An introduction to the Apple Mac
- The work area
- Image manipulation – the basics
- Cropping
- Adjusting levels
- Saturation
- Output
- Correcting areas
- Cleaning up images.
The workshops, which consist of Mac studio-based sessions – will enable you to gain confidence in using Photoshop as a means of manipulating images and enhancing the visual characteristics of the work.
Assessment methods
There will be no formal assessment on this course.
Further study and career options
On successful completion of this course you will be experienced enough to enrol on to our Photoshop: Intermediate course.
Additional information
The course will be taught on Apple Mac computers; for transferring files you should use a USB device or memory stick.
