Chris Martin

“My learning style was more suited to course work and assignments rather than exams so I was interested in the courses that Bedford College offered.  I also knew that I wanted to specialise in health and social care so it made sense for me to get a BTEC qualification rather than A-Levels.”

“The College had a good reputation for treating students like an adult but at the same time being supportive and in my experience most of the staff went out of their way to help me.  Something as simple as being able to call my teachers by their first names helped me to develop a good relationship with them.”

“The course involved two work placements which I enjoyed and which gave me the chance to work at the 2012 Paralympic Games which was a once in a lifetime opportunity. Our course tutors also arranged a meet the employer ‘speed date’ event where I was able to speak to a wide range of professionals from different health and social care roles such as nurses and care workers.  In fact I managed to get a job from this event so it proves how the College really can make you more employable and get your career off to a great start.  Choosing College rather than staying on at school was the best decision that I ever made.”
