Electrical Installation Advanced Apprenticeship Level 3

The Electrotechnical industry involves the installation, maintenance and repair of Electrotechnical equipment. This apprenticeship is a recognised route to gain an industry accepted qualification. It will help train and develop your skills but also help you to understand the industry and the businesses sector you’d be working in. This course offers the underpinning knowledge and on site assessment package that will give you “Fully qualified Electrical Contractor” status. Entry requirements
Grade requirements: You will need a minimum of three GCSEs at grades A*-C or 9-4, including English, maths and science, or equivalent.
Other requirements: You must have a keen interest in electrical / electronic engineering
Course content
During this apprenticeship you will study a range of topics, including:
- Working effectively and safely in an Electrotechnical environment
- Principles of Electrotechnology
- Application of health and safety and electrical principles
- Installation practices and theory
Assessment methods
You will be assessed through written assignments and exams, end of year practical assessments and online multiple choice questions.

You will gain the following qualifications:
Installing Electrotechnical Systems & Equipment City & Guilds Level 3 Diploma

Further study and career options
Course progression: You can progress on to a number of recognised Electrical Installation courses including City & Guilds 2391 Inspection and Test, and the new green technologies courses, such as Wind and Photovoltaic Power Generation Installations.
Future careers: You could progress on to a supervisory or management role.
