Beauty Therapy (Intensive) City & Guilds Level 3 Diploma

This advanced study programme will provide you with both the practical skills and theoretical knowledge required for all aspects of beauty therapy. The programme will support the development of your ability to a nationally recognised standard, and will help to progress your career to a higher level. Upon successful completion of this study programme you will be fully qualified to work in spas and salons around the world, or to start your own business.

Entry requirements

To begin this study programme you will need...

  • to be 19+
  • Beauty Therapy Level 2 Diploma 

Course content

You will be studying:

  • Advanced facials (e.g. microdermabrasion)
  • Body slimming treatments (e.g. microtone)
  • Swedish body massage
  • Epilation hair removal
  • Anatomy and physiology
  • Promotional activities
  • Health & safety

Assessment methods

You will be continually assessed throughout the study programme on all practical aspects by the beauty therapy tutors in the College’s commercial salon.

It must be stressed that full commitment is essential for success, and you will be required to pass online end of unit, multiple choice exam papers set by the awarding body for each unit.

Further study and career options

On successful completion of this study programme you can progress in to employment in a range of professional establishments, such as salons, spas etc. or you could gain employment in the training of others.

This qualification will lead to careers in spas, working on cruise ships, salons or setting up your own business. Higher level courses can also be taken in Advanced Epilation Techniques at Level 4 or progression onto HE courses.

Additional information

We regard appearance, conduct and attitude as an essential part of the study programme; you will therefore be required to wear the designated uniform and adhere to professional codes of appearance and conduct at all times. There will be  additional fees for the cost of your uniform and to cover your personal equipment. During the course you may be required to go on field trips, with the cost of these trips being additional to your course fees.

Funding information

If you are aged 19 or over you may qualify for an Advanced Learner Loan to help you pay the tuition fees for this course. Alternatively, you can pay by instalments to help make the cost of this course more affordable.
