Performing Arts - Production Pathway (Specialist/Theatrical Make-up) HND (part-time) (top-up from HNC)
This course will allow you to develop your skills in specialist make-up and hair to build a strong professional portfolio. This is a vocational course with a strong emphasis on practical based learning to ensure that the course content reflects the changes in industry and prepares you for the industry you will enter. You will be taken on location photoshoots, use photography and editing suites and meet other industry professionals to collaborate together and build on knowledge whilst gaining new skills. This course allows you to work in an educational environment where you have access to the use of facilities such as photography suites, a theatre and computer rooms alongside your own specialist room. This also allows you to be in a supportive environment with subject specialist lecturers.

To start this HND you must have successfully completed the HNC and entry is subject to a successful interview.

After the course you can progress onto a top-up year at university, go straight into industry as a make-up artist, or make-up artist assistant or even become self-employed.
Additional information
You will be required to spend £50 on resources, £30 on clothing and a kit cost of approximately £600. The kit includes: make-up, hair, wig making and prosthetics equipment.
