Production Arts (Technical Theatre & Stage Management) Advanced (Level 3)

This programme offers an excellent opportunity to develop all-round skills in set design, production, theatre management and many other areas. You will take part in production tasks, working on both small and large projects such as musical theatre performances, plays, dance shows and live music events.

Entry requirements

To begin this study programme you will need... 

Duration: 2 Years 

  • 4 GCSEs at grades A*-C or 9-4 ideally including English and maths 
OR
  • Performing Arts BTEC Level 2 Diploma with Functional Skills/GCSE English and maths at grades A*-C or 9-4

AND

  • Some experience of theatre production

    • Lighting and sound
    • Stage management
    • Set design
    • Makeup
    • Venue management
  • English and maths:
    If you don't already have GCSE English and maths grade A*-C, we will work with you to help you develop your maths and English skills. 
  • Work experience
  • Personal development skills, study skills and employability skills 
  • Additional vocational learning and qualifications

You can also gain up to 168 UCAS points. 

Further study and career options

On successful completion of this study programme you could progress on to a Higher National Diploma in Performing Arts, or attend a specialist school in your chosen are to develop your career prospects further. This qualification also attracts up to 360 UCAS points towards entry on to a degree-level course. You could also pursue employment within the performing arts industry.

Additional information

An additional fee of £100 will be required to cover the cost of any trips that take may place throughout the study programme. You will also need to purchase clothing/uniform at a cost of £15 and personal equipment for £20.

Funding information

All full-time Level 1 and Level 2 courses are now FREE for everyone, whatever their age. If you are looking to study a Level 3 qualification, courses are still free if you’re under 19 or 19-23 and studying your first full Level 3 qualification.
