Domestic Gas Fires & Wall Heaters (HTR1) BPEC Certificate
This course is ideal if you are a gas engineer/plumber wishing to maintain this qualification. An assessment only option is available if required.
Entry requirements
To undertake the HTR1 you must hold a current in date Domestic Natural Gas CCN1 qualification. Candidates wishing to extend their range of domestic elements for the first time are advised to contact the Plumbing department to discuss further entry requirements.
Course content
During the course you will cover topics including:
- Installation
- Commissioning
- Servicing
- Fault Finding.
Assessment methods
The assessment comprises of the following:
- A practical assessment
- A written assessment
- And where necessary additional oral questions may be asked by the assessor.
Further study and career options
On completion of the HTR1 you can now undertake other domestic gas elements.
Additional information
You will need to supply evidence of previous qualifications prior to attending the course. You will need to bring three passport sized photographs and your National Insurance number. Upon payment for the course a training manual will be issued, preferably at least three weeks prior to attending the course. This assessment can be taken up to six months prior to the expiry of your current certificate and still retain the full five years from your expiry date. There is a £35 additional fee for BPEC awarding body certification.

Pay by instalments
The College offers an instalment plan for Further Education and Higher Education courses to students where the total amount payable at the point of enrolment is £200 or more. Within the scheme there is an ability to pay up to 6 instalments, depending on the length of the courses and the final payment must be paid at least a month before the end of the course.
